TYPES OF ABUSE

A sad reflection on the churches of today. People who hold positions in churches are deemed as being trustworthy and honest, yet they sometimes use this position of trust for their own personal gain. While sexual abuse is a commonly known one, there are others that include social, financial, emotional, mental and physical (to name some) abuse that can be applied by the said person. The abuse is probably more common with males being the perpetrators, but it is certainly not limited to just males. It is made all the worse in that these people are supposed to be representatives of Christ and this makes the action far worse as it brings genuine Christians into disrepute.

It needs to be stated that this type of abuse is not something that is exclusive to Christianity but is found, just as much, in other religions as well.
