TYPES OF ABUSE

This is particularly prevalent with children, especially those under 5 years of age where one or even both parents literally neglect a child and do not feed them properly, wash them, provide a clean environment for them or neglect matters of health. Sadly, this type of neglect can often end in death.

While children are the prime targets of this type of abuse, the elderly are also targets and not only in the family situation but, in many cases, when they are in care.
