TYPES OF ABUSE

This is an area of abuse that is on the increase, especially in the western world. Part of the reason is probably the widespread growth in multicultural and multi-racial populations. There is an old saying that says "birds of a feather flock together" (that is like attracts) and so you end up with large racial groups. If one group feels threatened, in some way, by another, or there is some historical background of race hatred between groups, this can flair up in the best of societies and the end result is racial tensions which can lead to racial abuse. This can be particularly noticeable in a workplace environment when one such group is a minority in a workplace. This abuse is often not much more than verbal but it can get physical and, in recent years, there has even been an element of sexual abuse that is racially motivated. Racial abuse is on the increase.
