TYPES OF ABUSE

Whilst this can take many forms, the common factor is where a person, who is an educator, abuses their position of trust to take advantage of their victim(s). Most commonly, the victims of this type of abuse are children and teenagers, but it is not restricted to these groups. Not only is their act, in itself, criminal, it is the breach of trust and betrayal of their profession that are additional issues in this type. They bring a degree of disgrace upon the teaching profession, especially to the institution where they were employed.
