TYPES OF ABUSE

Cyber abuse is where people use technology to apply some form of abuse to another or to a group of people. This can be the use of computers, mobile phones, digital cameras and other forms of technology. In the case of computers it can be in the form of abusive statements on public access web sites or through Emails to people. Mobile phones, especially the more modern ones, allow us to send messages, photos and video that can be destructive or insulting in some way. One common method is the transmission of undesirable images of a person to other people in order to embarrass, insult or damage a person. Nude (or partially nude) photos of people are sometimes used to blackmail people by threatening to send these to others unless the person does or pays something to prevent it happening. It is a very sinister type of abuse because of the vast audience it can reach in a minimal amount of time.
