The Community Coalition Against Family Violence (CCAFV) The Community Coalition Against Family Violence (CCAFV) serves two vital functions, in Craven, Jones, and Pamlico Counties, with much of our work divided under two programs: Victim Services and Prevention Education. National estimates project that one in three girls is sexually abused before the age of eighteen, and one in six boys. However, it is estimated that almost 75% legitimate cases go unreported at all. Without our help, victims would have to fend for themselves in an already-overloaded system, possibly not receiving any relief or healing.

Focus On The Family Link

Focus On The Family Australia Link
Since Focus on the Family's primary reason for existence is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through a practical outreach to homes, we have firm beliefs about both the Christian faith and the importance of the family. This ministry is therefore based upon six guiding philosophies that are apparent at every level throughout the organization. These "pillars" are drawn from the wisdom of the Bible and the Judeo-Christian ethic, rather than from the humanistic notions of today's theorists. In short, Focus on the Family is a reflection of what we believe to be the recommendations of the Creator Himself, who ordained the family and gave it His blessing.

We're confrontational. We believe you have to be to make a difference in the fight against predators and pedophiles. We don't wring our hands and say "they're so evil, what can be done!" We find a way to get things done.

Children Screaming To Be Heard Link
In Britain, it has increasingly become the case that the State has taken power away from families in relation to the rights of their children.  Although this process could well have begun with children’s interests at heart and with the intention of protecting the interests of both families and children, the intervention by Social Services and other State agencies is today a grossly deformed system, hell bent on destroying the family and denying the rights of both parents and children.  Today thousands of children are taken into care on spurious grounds, denied any say in their own lives, denied access to family members they love and fostered out  to single parents or families about whom they know nothing and with whom they have nothing in common.

Annually, nearly 500,000 individuals receive help for injuries that are self-inflicted, while 40,000 Americans die as a result of successful suicide attempts. Despite the seriousness associated with it, there are still many misconceptions about suicide, who may become suicidal, and why. These misconceptions may cause people to fail to seek help or make others oblivious to the signs. In order to reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts, education is key.
