The Community Coalition Against Family Violence (CCAFV)	The Community Coalition Against Family Violence (CCAFV) serves two vital functions, in Craven, Jones, and Pamlico Counties, with much of our work divided under two programs: Victim Services and Prevention Education. National estimates project that one in three girls is sexually abused before the age of eighteen, and one in six boys. However, it is estimated that almost 75% legitimate cases go unreported at all. Without our help, victims would have to fend for themselves in an already-overloaded system, possibly not receiving any relief or healing.
	Most of what you have read or been told about women's self defense is just plain hog wash! Did you know that most of what is taught in Women's Self Defense Seminars is all but useless in a real life attack?
	It's no surprise that Child Advocates has become a leader in the ongoing fight against child abuse. Twenty years ago, three individuals, armed with $5,000 and using a kitchen table as headquarters, created the organization. They served 18 children that first year.
	This link is for the people of the Philippines. While not a site dealing just with abuse, there is certainly a great deal of information here for women in this country who are having to deal with abuse.. The organisation is an alliance of women's groups within the Philippines and is certainly a most valuable resource for people to refer to. There is information there on the fight against another form of abuse - the traffiking of women.

	Survivors And Victims Empowered (SAVE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to help prevent the criminal neglect and physical, emotional and sexual abuse of children and to help survivors of these childhood traumas. SAVE's purpose is to join with other organizations in both the public and private sector to stop the abuse of children and remedy the damage caused by this abuse, to raise awareness of these problems, and to offer and implement positive solutions. Through a variety of program services we are working to end the damage caused by abuse.

	AMBER Alert (USA): The AMBER Alert Program is a voluntary partnership between law-enforcement agencies, broadcasters, transportation agencies, and the wireless industry, to activate an urgent bulletin in the most serious child-abduction cases. The goal of an AMBER Alert is to instantly galvanize the entire community to assist in the search for and the safe recovery of the child.
	Reachout.com.au (Australia): An excellent site with information on many kinds of abuse.
	Fun for Kids: KidZui is a free Web browser, search engine and online playground for kids 3-12. Kids have the freedom to learn, play, search and discover over 2 million games, websites, videos and photos on their own. KidZui has the largest number of games, websites, videos and photos reviewed by parents and teachers anywhere. Kids can find what they need to help with schoolwork, by themselves. Kids safely express themselves, with their Zui, backgrounds, tags and online status. Smart for Parents: KidZui eliminates the need for parents to constantly watch over their kids' shoulder, when they are online. Parents know what their kids are doing online and they can connect by sharing content. KidZui sends a weekly email that tells you what your kids are doing online. The KidZui parent account lets you share content and set limits.

	The NetSmartz Workshop is an interactive, educational safety resource from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) for children aged 5 to 17, parents, guardians, educators, and law enforcement that uses age-appropriate, 3-D activities to teach children how to stay safer on the Internet.
	Kids.Net.au is an Australian 'not for profit' kids safe portal, that is updated and maintained by a team of volunteers. Kids.Net.au went online in 2003 and at first just included a directory of kids safe web sites, since then the site has grown into much more offering a dictionary, thesaurus and encyclopedia, with more to come.

	Origins Inc. was founded in 1995 by a small group of mothers who, having lost their children to adoption, were being continuously re-traumatised each time so-called experts and health professional minimised and invalidated the severe emotional anguish, trauma, and grief left in the wake of their adoption experience, assuming that we, as mothers, should have accepted the loss of our living babies - as if it were possible to do that.
