SUCCESS OR NOT

We have too many homeless kids
Living like vagabonds on our streets
Penniless and hungry, with very little to eat
Most of them survive, by immoral means
Many of them are in their lower teens
They get into all sorts of trouble
Life for them is a constant struggle
Prostitution, stealing and dealing
They become hardened criminals
Without any feelings
This has gone on, for far too long
And is way out of control
Really and truly, they have become lost souls
Most have come from abusive situations
Many of these kids have serious complications
Government departments do very little
I believe they’ve become very fickle
They really don’t want to know
Its doesn’t go away, all it does is grow
Abuse of this kind, breeds bad seed
We need to move fast
For these kids to succeed

LOVE AND HUGS

Find the time
To say I love you
It makes us feel like new
Give plenty of big hugs
It’s a good feeling
Being snug as a bug
Smiling is like
Warm sunshine
A healing power
To our mind
God is letting us know
That in time
All will be fine
Dwelling on the past
Stops us moving forward
We don’t go backwards
Only onwards
Go for dreams
That will surpass
Be positive
And they’ll last
Showing kindness
It’s like having a plus
Instead of a minus
God gives us assurance
It’s better than
Any other insurance

THINKING SMART

Never give up hope
When you think
You’re at the end of your rope
Your circumstances will change
As you loosen the chains
You may feel like you’re
Being squeezed through a funnel
There is a light
At the end of the tunnel
If you want to build
Healthier relationships
Get yourself into a good fellowship
You will be amazed
At your positive outlook
Buy some good books
The word of God
Is a great place to start
You’ll never look back
Just think smart
Your life does have meaning
Just do some spring cleaning
Clear the dark old webs
And listen to what Jesus said
Follow him, and turn from sin
A new heart you’ll have within
You do have a chance
For a new beginning
A great new life
Without the sinning
Evil has destroyed
So much in your life
Go on and be strong
You’re not under the knife
Immoral acts
And a life of confusion
All you need is God
With no disillusions
One thing about the Lord
He always loves you
And cares very deeply
About what you do
You will triumph in victory
As you turn away
From your sinful history

MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE

We need to believe in the Lord
Our salvation is our reward
We are strangers on this earth
Our true home, has much more worth
Eternity is forever and ever
Life on earth does not go on forever
We have goals
That we endeavor to achieve
Hopefully, we reap the benefits
So that we can receive
But that only lasts while we are here
It’s great we have ambition and a career
There comes a time when we have to leave
Our families and friends, they will grieve
God gives us choices
He listens to all our voices
We may think he is not there
But he does listen to our prayers
When we leave this dark old earth
It’s like being born again, a new birth
We must have hope and faith
And will always feel safe
Our new bodies will not suffer
We will be free from pain and disease
No more cruel remarks
And celebrating with Jesus
At his table for supper
Earth has no guarantees
In heaven everyone is free

GOD’S AWESOME GRACE

Jesus is the light of the world
His love is so amazing
We lift our voices and praise him
His grace and mercy is a gift to us
We hold onto it with both hands
And give him our trust
He walks beside us, to guide us
On every pathway we walk
He is always there, for us to talk
Listening intently to what we say
Jesus teaches us, his Father’s way
God wants to bless us
In every thing we do
To give our love to others
He then opens his heart to you
You may suffer persecution
But Jesus suffered execution
For your life He gave his own
Now He sits on his Father’s throne
We owe the Lord our lives
His blood was shed
He heard our cries
Through Him we have
Our eternal life
He shows us the way
All you need to do is say okay

A TRUE FRIEND

Who would you call
To be your best friend
One that you trust
To the very end
It’s nice to know
You have someone
To call on
Where the door
Is always open
When your heart
Has been broken
A true friend
Does not judge you
No matter what you do
Your friend will try
To help you
All the way through
Without any demands
They do what they can
A friend is special
Dependable and kind
A great listener
And in their heart, you shine
Everyone needs a friend
It’s great
When you need a lend
They will help you out
Without a doubt
Friends we have
We should cherish
You never know
When they will perish
Life is very short
Value what you have
A friend is there
To give you support
You can always
Make Jesus your friend
All you need to do, is knock
His door is always open
His arms stretched out
Protecting his flock

DESPERATE

“Teenagers” sometimes we want to
Pull our hair out
They’re enough to make
You scream and shout
My granddaughter
Is only just fourteen
Flaunting herself like a queen
Wearing revealing clothes
So her boobs are on show
Men just look at her
With their penetrating eyes
Lustfully wishing
They were between her thighs
Her mother says
She is out of control
No one will help her
Despairing, she is in
A dark hole
Not knowing where to turn
And she is deeply concerned
This child comes
From a broken home
This family left in desolation
To manage all alone
This is a huge problem
Growing in our society today
What can we do?
Before this lass
Totally goes astray

MY GREATEST REWARD

Dear friends, most of my life
Has been full of abuse
But praise God
I didn’t end up as a recluse
Trusting anyone
Was very difficult for me
The sad part is
I didn’t trust God
But he never gave up on me
People I didn’t even know
Were praying, from long ago
Prayer is powerful
And this is so true
Their prayers were answered
And I came through
It has changed my life
And my faith and trust
Has been restored
I’m no longer under
The devil’s sword
I now have the
Greatest reward
Jesus, I asked
Into my heart
The thing is
He has been there
Right from the start
Peace and contentment
It feels so great
You can have it too
Don’t wait
Till it’s too late

YOU CAN LOVE AGAIN

Can you show love?
And be sincere
Or are you too scared too
Because of fear
Expressing our feelings
When we’ve been hurt
Is not always easy
When you’ve been
Treated like dirt
The sad part is
We must let go of the past
Move on with our life
So relationships can last
Forgiveness has to be
Part of your plans
Otherwise you life
Will turn to bitterness
And get out of hand
Love is a beautiful emotion
It’s in your heart
And is full of devotion
We must learn to trust again
When we take that step
We’re on the mend
Opening your heart
To someone new
Will give you confidence
And this will help you
There are no guarantees
But be at ease
God does not want you
To be alone
Give it your best shot
And don’t postpone

UNSUPPORTIVE HUSBANDS

A young mother concerned
For her young daughter
Worried and not knowing
Where to turn
Struggling on her own
At the hospital
Hearing her daughter groan
Waiting patiently in the waiting room
Hoping to get in soon
No husband there to comfort her
Her tears in her eyes were a blur
The mother started to chat to us
She needed a friend she could trust
And spoke about her unbelieving spouse
He sounded like an abusive louse
And didn’t seem to care
You could see this mother
Was in deep despair
Apparently he thought the child
Was putting it on
And believed it one big con
I thank God we were there
To comfort her
And showed her that we cared
Listening to her it was very sad
She was so unhappy
For her, I felt really bad
Unsupportive husbands
Lack so much emotion
So unfeeling
Without any devotion

STAY IN CONTROL

The best way to solve any crisis
Go somewhere alone and pray
Otherwise you
Will go around the twist
And ruin your day
I’ve found that arguments
Only make things worse
You become wild
Until you burst
Communication is good
Because you get your point across
And you’re understood
But raising voices
Only brings on anger
This puts you in danger
Of being physically abused
Especially when they blow a fuse
Avoid all conflicts
You never can predict
When they’re in a mood
And they want a feud
A smile and hug
Can change their disposition
It calms them down
And puts you in a better position
Even if you know they’re wrong
It’s not worth an argument
As it only prolongs
Wait till they’re calm
You will less likely be harmed
Prayers get answered
Stay in one accord
It’s best to talk to the Lord
Let go and let God
Less lightly to get flogged
Being in control
You’re better off on the whole

DARK GLOOM OF DEPRESSION

The room feels cold and very dark
No laughter in the air
His world sees no light
And all that you do is not right
Nothing pleases him
How he speaks is very negative
He becomes very defensive
I have tried so hard
To brighten up his day
No matter what I say
He lives within his miserable mind
With nothing nice to say
Accept being unkind
Being with a depressive person
Can drive you insane
All he does is find fault and complain
Encouragement only made him worse
He often wished he was dead
So he could end up in a hearse
Buried and gone and so is his curse
Bitterness sets in
And everyone should pay
The dark gloom deepens
With you wishing it would go away
Refusing all help or any advice
You pray that God
Will at least make him nice
Children should not see
This kind of behaviour
You’re not doing them any favours
They need a happy atmosphere
And plenty of cheer
With laughter in the air and singing
A joyful home without fearing
A contented and healthier lifestyle
Positive vibes that help make
Their lives worthwhile
We have a duty of care
To do our very best
And to get them prepared
Don’t fill their lives with dread
They need our love and support
And should never be mislead

GET RID OF EVIL AND CALL ON JESUS

No one wants to live in a world
Where evil gets met with approval
Sin runs rampart if we continually
Harden our hearts by our refusal
Jesus is our Saviour he is the answer
To all this foul behaviour
We expect evil to be punished
Especially if we see children
Suffering or undernourished
We have laws in place
Hopefully to protect our families
From being harmed from serious fatalities
God’s laws have been put in place
By his wonderful caring grace
The cross is a place where God punishes sin
Giving us hope and a new life within
It is on the cross that God punishes evil
Where he takes care of that satanic weevil
Jesus was slaughtered for us to have hope
A wonderful offer so that we could cope
Believe for your eternal Salvation
For brand new beginning, a new creation
I would not have come through without Jesus
Surrendering all my sins at the foot of cross
Was the best decision I’ve ever made
I know now my debt has been paid
It’s a great feeling in knowing you’re saved

PRAISE GOD
REFLECT ON HIS BLESSINGS

Listening to birds singing
Calling their mates
Gives me a wonderful feeling
So refreshing and tingling
Touches my skin everywhere
As I snuggle deeply in my soft chair
I feel so at peace
This feeling, I don’t want to release
The day looks magnificent
God’s light shines its brilliance
As it warms the soul
You know God is in control
It’s so refreshing this peace of mind
Feeling so happy, your heart shines
What a beautiful day
To drop in and say hello
Just to see a friends smile
On their face glow
Sometimes it’s just wonderful
To sit down and reflect
Of all the wonderful blessings
Often we take for granted
But God has given them
For our possessing
Given freely with his love
So beautiful, just like hugs
Allow God to take our burdens
He sees in us as a wonderful person

I LOVE MY FRIEND

My friend, I trust completely
He knows when I hurt deeply
I cannot count the times I’ve called
And he never fails to come, he is so cool
Even if he doesn’t agree
My friend is always there for me
And accepts me as I am
If I need to change, he says I can
I know my friend appreciates what I can do
He doesn’t tell me, he is always there
To help me through
I tell him all about my feelings
My dreams and hopes
What an awesome friend
He’s there so I can cope
When I think of him, I just smile
We’ve walked together many miles
One thing he never does is judge me
He guides me instead, so I will see
I know he thinks I’m special
In many different ways
It’s so lovely to talk with him every day
How many friends can you do that with?
He gives me a reason to live
And no matter what I’ve done he forgives
I’ve got mad many times and been wrong
My friend always turns up
He’s like a peace treaty that comes along
I think he urges me
To put on his favourite songs
Can you believe I start singing to him?
It’s his way of calming me down
Oh well he has to put up with my sounds
My friend has a beautiful name
His name is Jesus
And since I’ve known him
I have never been the same
The best friend, I’ve ever had
With a friend like that
How can you be sad?

HOW CAN ANYONE
NOT BELIEVE

Waves gently
Rolling onto the shore
I see so many shells
I can’t have them all
They’re like little treasures
Given by the Lord
As my feet feel the
Softness of the sand
I look up and thank God
For our beautiful land
The slight breeze
That touches my face
So gentle and soft
It feels like delicate lace
Trees have characters
Some tell us a story
We’re so blessed
Give God the glory
Rivers and springs
Water our precious earth
Created so perfectly
Like a new born at birth
Fruits, nuts and seeds
So lovingly provided
For our daily needs
A lovely variety
To choose from
God wants us
To be healthy and strong
Sunrises and sunsets
More beautiful than gems
Such beauty I see in them
Array of gorgeous flowers
Tenderly cared for
By his blessing of showers
Majestic mountains
On the horizon
What a splendid vision
God wants to give us so much
This is his mission
A rainbow appears after the rain
A gentle reminder
God promises will forever remain

OUR TRIALS ARE A BLESSING

It’s a blessing to
Receive a testing
It shows us how
Far we are progressing
I've learnt something worthwhile
It's a form of strength
To help me walk that extra mile
If I complain, I feel the pain
It’s a new challenge
For me to face
I intend to win this race
Giving up is not on my menu
I expect to get a breakthrough
Determination is the only way
So I know, I will be okay
My faith in God
Has given me my peace
And his wonders will never cease
My dear friends
Life is not hopeless
We are so blessed
Even in our afflictions
That’s when I think
Of the crucifixion
Jesus died for all of us
All he wants is our trust
Proclaim his name
I am so glad he came

LOVE IS A FREE GIFT

The greatest gift is love
Be sure to give plenty of hugs
Share with one another
It doesn’t need to be
A sister or a brother
Go share with the needy
We should never be greedy
None of us know
But there could come a time
When we’ve no place to go
If you see someone hungry
Do not pass by
It may be you one day
That this could apply
Thank God for people
With compassionate hearts
As they play a very big part
So many would suffer
But they have a mission
And give freely
Without condition
Their hearts are
Full of compassion
In showing they care
For people who have
Lost all faith and hope
And in deep despair
Most people have endured
Don’t be afraid, be assured
Gods Angels are not far away
They watch over us
And make sure we’re okay

WHY NOT GIVE THANKS

A sunny day, beautiful in every way
Why not give thanks
God listens to what we say
I look in my garden
And watch my plants grow
Why not give thanks
For the beauty that is shown
I hear the rain, it’s pouring down
Why not give thanks
It’s nourishing the ground
I’ve just had a long drive home
Why not give thanks
God made sure I wasn’t alone
Someone took care of my garden
Why not give thanks
Without charge, what a bargain
A friend from church offered me food
Why not give thanks
My faith has been renewed
Praise God for our health
Why not give thanks
It’s worth more than our wealth
My wonderful peace, which was given
Why not give thanks
I’ve now been forgiven
Thank you for my salvation
Why not give thanks
I’m a brand new creation

HELL HOLE

In the middle of the heat of the day
The sweat on my brow
Will not wipe away
My body aching from limb to limb
This is a hell home I’m within
Under the heavy arm of a guard
A loathsome beast, with no regard
Trying to take a break from
His watchful eyes
He turns on me full of despise
His whip cuts deeply into my skin
Wreaking with pain, I am so thin
The food I eat is off the ground
Only scraps that can be found
The putrid water I drink
Comes from the drains
From the sink and it stinks
At night I am so cold
My clothes are in rags
Dirty and smelly
My health is really bad
I want to die in my distress
It’s the only way
I will get my rest

It’s hard to imagine
This sort of thing goes on
But it’s been going on
For so long
When we go through all
Our fiery trials
Please sit down
And think for awhile
We have so many blessings
Sometimes we fail to see
I thank the Lord
My life is not depressing
And for watching over me
