HUNGER UNDER OUR OWN EYES

His big brown eyes, just look around
Watching closely
You know he is on the scrounge
His lunch box looks pathetic
He would have no hope
Of becoming an athletic
He looks so thin
You would think something
Is seriously wrong with him
Suddenly he moves towards the bin
He scrounges through the papers
As he takes a good look in
He picks up a half eaten roll
Eats it as if he’s lost control
Frantically searching for more to eat
This was making my tummy so weak
The next thing I see, is him picking up butts
To my horror, this was disgusting muck
He was only young, where did he come from?
And where was his mum it makes you wonder
The kind of stronghold that he was under
What kind of home does he come from
Why is he alone, no where to go
Is he homeless and always on the roam
Some one has to care
Life for them is not so fair
We need to take action
And get some satisfaction

DON’T DWELL IN THE PAST

Break the burdens off your life
Move on, let go of all the strife
Plant a seed of happiness in your heart
It’s like having a brand new start
Worrying can cause severe stress
Start looking to the Lord and be blessed
It’s amazing the peace you feel
Contentment for your life is God’s will
Dwelling on the past and all the hurt
Is very destructive and hinders God’s work
Praise has power, criticism makes you sour
Years of abuse can cause mental anguish
It’s like being in prison and keeps you in languish
You can have control over the way you think
Be positive and you’re less likely to sink
Live for each day as if it was your last
Never hold grudges, leave it in the past
Apologise if it needs to be said
Don’t wait until they’re dead
You will find if you start to pray
And communicate with God
You’re well on your way
Of receiving God’s peace
A joy that’s unspeakable
This kind will never cease

LETS PASS THE TEST
AND TAKE HOLD OF THE BEST

Life and all its blessings
Impart his word, by our confessing
Speak out and share his great love
His glorious peace and joy
This is for us all to enjoy
I am not ashamed
Believe me, you’ll never be the same
In all my trials of testing
I never failed to honour my God
Occasionally we need a prod
And be reminded of God’s great love
I’ve been right at the bottom of the pit
Thought I had no hope, and I was licked
God gives us every opportunity
It’s a good thing to stay in unity
The bible brings us
Comfort and hope in what is to come
We have this promise through the Son
When we fill our hearts with his word
A supernatural experience has occurred
It transforms our very being
This is reality that I’m now seeing
A seed has been planted
Deep into my heart
Like a new born baby
It becomes an embedded part
The Holy Spirit teaches and nourishes
The beauty in you flourishes
His word gives us living water
Think about that
As He was led to the slaughter
Without Jesus there is no hope
We are not heading
On a downward slope
One day we will go home
To the very best
We have choices to make
Lets past the test

YOU DO HAVE A FRIEND

It’s a long lonely road
And the path can get rough
You’ve run out of places to go
As the going gets tough
No home, no money and no job
People look down on you
And think you’re a slob
When in actual fact
You have been robbed
Your home, you had to leave
For your wife
She found another man
Told you to get another life
All of a sudden
You’ve lost your job
And your heart just throbs
The anguish you’re in
Is not caused through your sin
No money, with every thing gone
Suddenly you have no place to belong
Sorrow like this is hard to bare
You’ve been dealt a bad blow
And it’s certainly not fair
But there are people who do care
So that you’re aware
That you do have a friend
Turn to him, he will be with you
To the very end

YOU’VE FAILED YOUR CHILDREN

Your temper is out of control
Look at your children
Constantly crying
So hard to console
Stop shouting at the kids
It’s not the right way to go
Their legs have large welts
As if you’ve hit them with a belt
The children are calling
For you to stop
And your language is appalling
Some one should call the cops
What gives you the right
To treat your children this way
You may have given birth
But you need to be put away
Afflicting your children
With physical abuse
Has long term side affects
And there is no excuse
Control is what you need to learn
And respect is something
You’ll have to earn
Discipline is needed
But you have exceeded
The limitations
And this is a serious violation
And it’s not acceptable
It’s down right objectionable
These sorts of actions are illegal
And you can finish up in jail
But worse still
Your children, you’ve failed

SILENCE IS MY REJECTION

I feel so left out of things
Mum and Dad close the door
We don’t talk as a family
Or do things together anymore
Meal times are the same
We sit in silence
Except when
They call my name
They’re always to busy
To give me any time
And reject my hugs
Which I think is so unkind
There is no affection in our house
If they do speak, it’s only to rouse
I feel deeply hurt inside
And I often go to my room
Hide my feelings and cry
I don’t think they care any longer
My heart is wounded
I need to get stronger
I’ve built a wall around myself
As they only care about their wealth
In my despair I started to pray
The Lord has given me comfort
He looks at me in a different way

WE CAN BE ACHIEVERS

Suffering is part of life
Sometimes it can hurt so deep
It’s like being cut with a knife
We think at times
How shall we cope
When you feel you’ve tried
Everything and you have
Come to the end of your rope
Giving up is the easy way out
Sometimes it challenges us
Without a doubt
But we wake up in the morning
Why go on mourning
It hurts you and others around
They feel they’re on tender hooks
And can’t make a sound
Healing comes when you let go
Give it to God and it may be slow
But your outlook must be positive
Not of a low opinion, being derogative
You can choose to be negative
But where will that get you
That’s not very competitive
Fight back, be determine to win
You will overcome within
It maybe a love one that you’ve lost
How do you think God felt
When his Son suffered on the cross
We all go through sad stuff
The going can get fairly rough
We are achievers
Because we are believers
There is an answer to all distress
Turn to Jesus and he will do the rest

HIS POWER OF ANOINTING

God wants to take us out of
Our kingdom of darkness
Renew our strength
And take away the vileness
He wants to take us
To a new place
And to let us know
About his grace
Moving us away
From our desperation
And giving us a new life
Of salvation
This will transform us
Wherever we are
His light in us
Will look like a brilliant star
He wants to fill us with
His power and anointing
Our decision to change
Will not be disappointing
We will be changed from
The inside out and be released
From the evilness of the beast
God can raise us up
From the gutter
And it doesn’t matter
Who you’ve been
The sin is buried in our past
And we’ve been made clean
Our decision to change is up to us
It will be the best thing to do
Is to give God our trust
His plans and purpose
For our life
Are now on a new path
Helping us through
The wrath and the strife
Being equipped
With his victory sword
Praise God we have the Lord
We then become history makers
And can cover a lot of acres
Spreading our
Wonderful testimony
And fulfilling
Our dreams and destiny

COWARDLY ACTS

This is a direct poem
To what I call scum of the earth
An evil seed planted at birth
How vile to prey on innocent victims
Who have never done any harm to you
I sure wish it was your feet in the same shoes
Because they’re of a different nationality
Or they don’t have the right colour skin
They shouldn’t be persecuted by your ugly sin
Just because they’re of a different faith
They do have a right to feel safe
So what if they think and feel different
We all have to make our own choices
They have a right to raise their voices
You think you have the right to cause
Such horrendous wounds to their bodies
You’re nothing but an evil nobody
Whatever your reasons
They're not good enough
And you’ve got no right to get rough
Even animals have more heart than you scum
Hopefully one day you will be on the run
One day you will get your true justice
And no mercy will be for you
For the agony you
Put your victims through
Anger swells up inside me
You should not be free
When I think of the pain and suffering
You miserable vile demonic demons do
One day you will go through it too
Torture is the only way
You demons understand
And you’re a coward not a man
You hunt like packs of wolves
Believe me you're the biggest fools
I hope every night
You lay your miserable head down
Just remember you’re not safe in any town
I hope you’re haunted by your own actions
Then it will give
Your victims some satisfaction
Every nationality can be cruel
You don’t have to join them
And think you have the right to rule
One day you will face your evil ruler
Believe me the devil is so much crueler

FORCING INTIMACY

I’ve met this cool guy
But I am rather shy
He tells me that he
Really likes me
And I’ve only known
Him a few days
But now he wants
Things to go further
And he doesn’t
Listen to what I say
I’m not really ready
For this kind
Of commitment
And I don’t want
To get myself in
Any kind
Of predicament
He says
I must not like him
If I don’t say yes
Now I’m under
So much stress
I don’t want
To lose him
But I know I will
If I refuse him
Inside me I know
This is not right
If I give in to him
I’m not very bright
It’s hard when you
Like someone so much
But I don’t want to give in
To him and be touched
If this guy really liked me
He would understand
So I refuse to fall
For his persistent demands
And would be far better off
One day waiting for the
My special right man

BE ENCOURAGED

Seek first the things of
The kingdom of God
Don’t allow yourself
To be robbed
The Lord has done
A good work in you
Be strong and of
Good courage
And you
Will come through
The devil
Is always ready
To place
Doubts in our mind
Rise up and be strong
And you will find
The devil will flee
And this you will see
The road
Is narrow and long
But God is leading you
To where you belong
Be faithful
His peace will come
You have that promise
Through the Son

DESPERATE SITUATION

You hear nothing except
Their cruel whispers
The darkness in their eyes
They’re so evil and very sly
Deep inside you sense
Their evil plans
You’re not quite sure
How they’ll attack
Or their demands
But you know
You’re being watched
Some of them are drunk
Like they’ve been
On the scotch
Acting like idiots
And ready to plot
It’s late at night
These guys are
In for a fight
I’ve got to get home
As I’m all alone
This is not
A good situation
I’m frightened
Out of my wits
In desperation
Why didn’t
I listen
To some sound advice
If I get out of this
Next time
I’ll think twice
Please God help me
Protect me I plead
You’re my only hope
And I’m in need

LOUSY ACT OF BETRAYAL

Infidelity is an
Act of betrayal
The results
Can be devastating
And heartbreaking
Children don’t understand
They feel like they’ve
Been dealt a rough hand
Their tiny world has been
Turned upside down
All of a sudden their lives
Have been turned around
Your children see you
In a different light
And you’ve lost
Their respect as
They listen
To your fights
No longer
Is there trust
And they find
It hard to adjust
Our own actions
Can hurt others deeply
And you’re looked at
Very cheaply
I’ve heard people say
Oh they’ll get over it
That is a lousy attitude
You have to admit
We should think
Before we actually do
Because our actions
Affect them too

LET’S TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Our Lord paid our dept
Little by little
Let’s take the next step
To this day
We could never repay Jesus
For sacrificing his life
On the cross
He did this to give us hope
Otherwise we would
Have been lost
How can we be ashamed
To give glory to his name
Not many would give
Their life for you
But he did this
Because he loves you too
I hear people say
I’m okay
I don’t need him
They fall
Deeper and deeper
Into their sin
Some think it’s a fairytale
And refuse to believe
The devil is so happy
Because they’re
Being deceived
Our life span is not long
Please remember
You could be wrong
God says we were
Made in his image
And he is the author
Of my life until
It’s finished
The evolution theory
Has no purpose or plan
It doesn’t give me hope
When Jesus can
It amazes me
That man has to
Look for an
Alternative answer
Rather than believe
Praise God
That I’m not that naïve

NEGLECTING THE ELDERLY

Old and feeling frail
With no one to help them
And they’re not very well
Their families
Don’t give them time
They just hope that
They’ll be fine
Cooking meals
Washing and cleaning
Difficult tasks
For them to do
Now their life
Is without meaning
Their families
Don’t seem to care what
They’re going through
Struggling daily
Is very demeaning
Sometimes they wish
They were only dreaming
We have learnt so much
From the older generation
And from them
We are building
Many nations
Our elderly folk
Have not become
Useless junk
They’re our treasures
Not like you
Uncaring punks
One day you’ll be old
If your attitude
Does not change
It may be you
Left out in the cold

SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO HELP YOURSELF

You can’t expect life to be positive
If your thoughts are negative
Complaining all the time
And needing a sedative
A lady I know is full of woe
Locks herself away
And when I visit her
Her depression
Makes me feel low
She expects everyone
To help her out of her mess
I have a heart
But I’m not impressed
She refuses advice
And her health is not nice
She spends all her money
And gets into debt
All she wants
Is her cigarettes
She complains
That she can’t sleep
And her roof leaks
Her hot water
System is on the blink
I just sit there and think
We all have our own
Burdens to bare
And praise God
That we can share
But there are times
When we have to sit back
And say, hey this lady
Is way off track
I encourage her
When I can
But I refuse her
Constant demands
She would use me
If she could
I do pray to God
To release her
Out of her dark woods

STAY CALM IF YOU CAN

If you stay calm you are wise
And your temper is
Less lightly to rise
We need to stay healthy
In mind body and soul
Peace is the key
That keeps us in control
Your home is a sanctuary
Where your family relaxes
Not a place where
Anger and rage climaxes
If you encourage
Each other daily
It will be like
Dancing to a ukulele
Joy will fill your place
Happiness and smiles
Shines on their faces
What a wonderful
Start to your day
Before you go on
Your way
Praying for each other
Assures them
Of the love from their
Father and mother
Peace and harmony
Unites your family as one
God has taught us this
Through his Son

BRAVE MEN CALL ON HIM

Our enemies are doomed
Praise God
His light shines through
All the gloom
The devil works to
Rob and betray
But the Lord
He uses his sword
To stop the devil’s
Malicious ways
The Lord is merciful
And full of grace
He accepts you as you are
Even when you feel
You’re an utter disgrace
He wants to protect us
Day by day
And save us in times
Of trouble so that
We’re okay
My adversaries will flee
They know my Lord
Is standing with me
How great is the Lord
He rules everything
So beautifully in one accord
Brave men call on him
Because they know
That they will win

TURN FROM YOUR SINS

Don’t think the Lord
Is too weak to save you
He does hear your cry for help
But if we refuse to listen
It will only caused division
Why put God’s word on the shelf
You will only hurt yourself
It’s because of our sins
That separates us from God
We can be an unruly mob
That is why sometimes
We need to be guided
With an iron rod
Sin slowly destroys us
And eats away our trust
Our wounds will go deeper
And our lives become bleaker
Walking in darkness
Is like having dark shadows
Surrounding you without hope
You then find it harder to cope
God does not want us in distress
Turn from your sins
And you will be blessed

MY TRUE FRIEND

I must have an angel
That shines the Lord’s light
On each step that I take
From the moment I’m awake
I know my Lord
As my personal Saviour
He changed my heart
And my behaviour
Many times
I’ve talked to him
As my true friend
He knows
My innermost secrets
It’s a wonder I haven’t
Sent him around the bend
But the great part is
He never condemns me
My eyes are gently opened
So that I can see
With a greater understanding
His Holy Spirit is guiding me
I’m never ashamed
To call on his name
In his hands I feel secure
I’ve come along way
And have matured
My fears, my shame
He took it all
By the power of his name
I never thought life
Could be so good
But he believed in me
And he understood
